Discover. Engage. Belong.

We love our community. We strive to create leaders that change the world.

Our Programs

Our programs focus on understanding the process of student and scholar visas, benefits, restrictions, orientation, travel, and employment. We want to foster international student leadership and build community. Our goals are to promote cross-cultural understanding throughout the University and create connections and friendships that include partnering with student clubs, organizations, and campus partners.

Global Jayhawk Hangout

Global Jayhawk Happy Hour provides a weekly opportunity to come together as an international student community at KU. The gatherings will feature dinner and conversations with fellow international students. Following dinner, students will have the opportunity to present to the group about their country, language, hobby, or any topic that they find interesting. The workshops are informal and do not count for course credit, but do count for GAP (Global Awareness Program) credit.

The Fall 2022 meetings will be held on Thursdays at 6:00 in Room 126, Strong Hall.
Contact the International Student Engagement Team at issprograms@ku.edu to schedule a presentation!

Kansas City is a large city in the heart of the U.S., about 45 minutes away from Lawrence. In the fall of 2022 ISS students will have the opportunity for a day-long tour of Kansas City, a KC Royals baseball game, and the Halloween Haunt at Worlds of Fun. Tickets will be sold through the ISS Programs weekly newsletter that comes out every Monday, so check your KU email for details!
