Biography

Laila completed her master's degree at KU in Leadership Studies with a concentration in Public Health Practice, Policy and Management in May 2024.

Having been an international student while working part time as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, she understands the challenges of balancing workload and studies and the importance of a supportive community and social life while being away from home. With a background in public health, she is especially passionate about student health and wellbeing; she is dedicated to connecting international students with the resources and support they need to thrive academically, socially, and personally at KU. You can connect with Laila about any campus or community resource needs or questions about the programs she manages such as: ISS Atlas Series and International Student Conversation Series. She also serves as a staff advisor to the International Women's Association.

Laila speaks four languages, with Pashto as her native. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends, traveling to new places, experiencing different cultures, and trying new foods.
