Joanna Thomas

Joanna is a native Kansan and KU alumna. She graduated from KU with degrees in Journalism and Global and International Studies and has a master’s degree in International and Intercultural Communication from the University of Denver. She also has experience studying, living, and traveling abroad. 

Joanna has worked primarily in international higher education and nonprofit settings with student support services and cross-cultural communication She leads the engagement team and also advises students on immigration regulations. She oversees new student orientation, programming, and resource support. 

Outside of work, Joanna enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, cheering on KU sports, and traveling to new places.
