Summer Insurance - Not Enrolled

Students NOT enrolled in summer 2026 KU classes but:

  • was enrolled in spring 2026 AND 

  • will be enrolling in fall 2026 KU classes

Please note: if you have an active graduate assistant appointment, or had a graduate assistant appointment, please review those specific instructions. F-1 students are not required to have insurance if not enrolled in KU classes. However, ISS highly recommends that you have some type of insurance coverage because of the high cost of medical care in the US. That insurance coverage is not required to meet the Kansas Board of Regents requirements.

  • Step 1: Enroll in Fall 2026 KU Classes 
  • Step 2: Apply to UHCSR between April 20 – June 31, 2026. 
  • Step 3: UHCSR sends payment link for $455.00.  Coverage activates after payment.
  • Step 4: UHCSR sends confirmation.
