What does she do at ISS?

Haining provides assistance in the sponsored student program and the Jayhawk Semester program. 


Who is Haining?

Haining was born and raised in Beijing China. She attended Peking University before moving to the United States to complete a BA degree in economics with a minor in music. After graduation, she worked in finance in New York City for 6 years, after which she decided to return to school to pursue a master degree in curriculum and teaching. She has been a lecturer in Chinese language at KU since 2011. Once an international student herself, Haining really appreciates the support and services she received as a student and understands how challenging it can be for international students to adapt academically, socially, and emotionally. She strives to help international students and scholars achieve their full potential at KU.

Personal Fun Fact?

She completed a triathlon in 2005, raising over $9,500 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
