What is Global Partners?
Global Partners is a program that pairs an international student with an American student and is open to both undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Kansas. It provides a unique opportunity for international students to become more immersed in American culture and experience university life at KU. At the same time, American students will get to engage with and learn about a new culture.
Paired students will meet at least twice a month for an hour each time for the duration of the academic year. Each month you'll receive a list of events happening on campus that we recommend you and your partner attend together. You and your partner can also arrange to meet for an activity that's outside the list of events. Some recommended activities include:
- Grabbing coffee or lunch on campus
- Attending an athletic event
- Watching a performance at the Lied Center
- Sitting in on a guest lecture
- Trying a new cuisine at a restaurant in Lawrence
Global Partners will host an event on the first Monday of each month where you and your paired student can engage with each other as well as with other participants of the program. This monthly event can count as one of your two monthly meetups!
