What does she do at ISS?

Joanna is responsible for advising F-1 international students on immigration regulations and policies such as I-20 updates, reduced course loads, concurrent enrollment, employment authorization, SSN applications, school transfers, etc.

Who is Joanna?

Joanna grew up in Chapman, Kansas and quickly discovered a love for international education through her own study abroad experience in Italy, personal travels and education. After graduating from the University of Kansas, she moved to Denver, Colorado to pursue her master’s degree. While completing her degree, Joanna worked for the University of Denver’s International Student & Scholar Services and the English Language Center, which solidified her passion for the field. Joanna loves being surrounded by people from all different countries and cultures and enjoys helping students have the best possible experience they can at KU. In her free time, she likes to travel, hike, cook and fanatically cheer on the Jayhawks.

Personal Fun-Fact

Joanna has climbed several “14er” mountains in Colorado, jumped out of a plane and been snorkeling in Hawaii!
