What does she do at ISS?

Donna manages the day to day operation of the Front Desk and reception area.  She provides guidance on immigration related questions, support for the ISS Advisors and helps ensure a welcoming, professional and informative environment for international students, KU staff and faculty.  She is responsible for implementing changes, updating handbooks, hiring/training/supervising the student workers and ISS receptionist.

Who is Donna?

Donna was born and raised in upstate New York, attended SUNY Oswego, eventually moving to Kansas and completing her studies at KU.  After graduation, she worked in the private business sector in operations management for 13 years, choosing in 1998 to stay home with her small children (instead of flying 30-35 times per year for her job!)  Donna returned to the workforce at the Lawrence Public Schools in 2001, where she worked with international families, managed professional development tracking, and served as a trainer. She joined ISS in the fall of 2014 ….and describes the experience thus far as “rewarding, exciting, and challenging!”  She really enjoys meeting the students and assisting them so that they leave the office with a smile… with their questions answered and their needs addressed.

Personal Fun Facts

She loves beaches, snow, and new adventures. Her two grown children are third generation Jayhawks!
